Go to place for food over the past few decades when visiting New Brighton. Cash only and food tastes great every time. Nice selection of classic desserts also. Our favourite dishes are the fishy special and roast dinner.
1st time going there, great little cafe I didn't know existed. The seats are actually from Ferry Boats great novel idea. Outside seating available
The food was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was a lovely atmosphere. We'll definitely go back!
I see a lot of people here, especially in good weather as there aren't many places to sit outside, I ordered a latte and a plate of chips, under a fiver for both, so was very happy with the price, the latte was made from powdered coffee and hot milk, not a great start! I sat down outside and waited for my chips, they were quite busy, so expected to have wait for a while, just because I only ordered chips, I did not expect to get served before people who had been waiting longer. Eventually my chips arrived, they were piping hot and looking a little odd, upon closer inspection, these were not good, they were frozen oven style chips that had been deep fried, considering that there are two excellent chip shops just a few minutes walk away, you would think that they serve something better than cardboard chips! Thankfully there was some ketchup on the table to make them more palatable, the ketchup was Aldi's own, still in the Aldi bottle, no attempt to disguise the fact it was cheap, but it dis it's job. The location is great, the staff were very polite and friendly, so no complaints there. I am sure I'm not the only one who has been disappointed with the quality of the food they serve, this could be a great place to visit in future, they just need to raise their game!
